Since moving here 3 years ago we have decide to leave our shoreline as wild and natural as possible for the birds, bee’s butterflies and natural species to thrive. This year we have noticed a huge increase in wildlife include new species of birds such as bald eagles, cedar waxwings and a plethora of other butterflies and bees. A few simple things we have done are;
- Allowing the native plants and trees to flourish , not cutting them down or weeding
- Once the wild flowers have gone to seed we spread them along the shoreline to allow for more growth the following year
- Planted our perennial berry bushes along the shoreline which also attracts new wildlife
