Since moving here 3 years ago we have decide to leave our shoreline as wild and natural as possible for the birds, bee’s butterflies and natural species to thrive. This year we have noticed a huge increase in wildlife include new species of birds such as bald eagles, cedar waxwings and a plethora of other butterflies and bees. A few simple things we have done are;

  1. Allowing the native plants and trees to flourish , not cutting them down or weeding
  2. Once the wild flowers have gone to seed we spread them along the shoreline to allow for more growth the following year
  3. Planted our perennial berry bushes along the shoreline which also attracts new wildlife
